Help Festival of Sail San Francisco give Bay Area youth the opportunity to experience the grandeur and excitement of Tall Ships®. Youth will learn the historical significance these magnificent ships offer both on a local and global basis.
Introduction to Maritime
Sponsor 24 children to visit the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park for an Introduction to Maritime program. Program Details:
- Twenty minute tour of the vessels and programming at Hyde Street Pier led by a Park Ranger or Age of Sail Educational Program leader
- Ten minute fun activity (Cargo Pick or Bosun's Chair)
- One hour activity on the water (Whale Boats/Pelican Sail)
- Half hour shore side to visit the Educational Village area where there will be a multitude of maritime educational programs offered.
Youth Sailing Program
Led by a Park Ranger or Age of Sail Educational Program Leader, 15 youth will receive 2-hours of hands-on sail training on a Cat Boat, Whaleboat, Pelican or equivalent.
Youth Boarding Pass Program
Donate 100 weekday boarding passes to a youth group of your choice. Enable 100 kids to experience the wonder of tall ships. Festival of Sail has several nonprofit partners that can also distribute the tickets if you choose.
Parade of Sail Youth Program
Give a child a ride of a lifetime! Sponsor a youth (or group of youth) to ride on one of the Festival of Sail Tall Ships® in the majestic Parade of Sail
* Number of sponsorship opportunities at this level is limited and will depend on the participating vessels.
San Francisco to Channel Islands Youth Sail Training
Sponsor a youth to become part of the crew and sail from San Francisco to the next West Coast host port of Channel Islands *
- Excursion will last from five to seven days depending on the vessel
- Youth will be accompanied home by an adult (transportation method to be determined)
* Number of berths available will depend on the participating vessels.
