By the late 1960's, Polaris had fallen into disrepair. At that time, she was purchased by Bob and Nancy Porteous, who did a major restoration in the 1970's. They then sailed her in the annual Master Mariners Regatta and took many trips up to the Sacramento River Delta.

In 1984, Polaris was purchased by the Tom List family. Tom raced her every year in the Master Mariner Regatta until 1999, the year she won the Stone Boatyard Cup for the Best Maintained Vessel in the fleet. Polaris also won first place in the Master Mariners gaff II division in 1989, 1997 and 2007. (Tom List is currently the Spaulding Center President).

Later in 1999, Polaris was purchased by Corrinne and David Bressler. They continued to race her and kept her very active in Master Mariners events. The Spaulding Wooden Boat Center would like to thank Corrinne and David Bressler for their generous 2006 donation of Polaris to SWBC.

It is part of the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center (SWBC) mission to introduce people like you to wooden boat history and sailing.
